Australians have an ‘epidemic of fear’ amid constant lockdowns

Small Business Australia Executive Director Bill Lang says “we have this epidemic of fear” with state governments instantly locking down as soon as a couple of positive cases are discovered. Mr Lang said the number of businesses lost throughout the pandemic in Victoria is higher than the number of days in lockdown and a lot of them are now “on the verge of giving up for good”. “We have this epidemic of fear that we’ve been put into now for more than 18 months and no one can put their hand on their heart there at the National Cabinet...and say look even if get to 80 or 90 per cent, we still won’t have lockdowns,” Mr Lang told Sky News Australia. “Everywhere else in the world the decisions been made, we have to learn how to live with this virus and let adults get on with their lives.
