Net Zero board job would have put Turnbull in ‘direct conflict’ with Scott Morrison

Sky News host Peta Credlin says it is surprising how Malcolm Turnbull was given a taxpayer-funded gig chairing the net zero emissions board given his record and the fact he has been “belching out bile and venom” at former colleagues. Mr Turnbull was appointed as the Chair of the Net Zero Emissions and Clean Economy Board by Minister Kean last week before the minister sensationally rescinded the offer today. Ms Credlin pointed to the former prime minister’s record in parliament where green energy policies lost him the leadership of the Liberal Party twice. She said the post which has since been rescinded was always going to bring Mr Turnbull in “direct conflict” with the prime minister who replaced him. “In an area where not only has Turnbull form, but in a policy area in of itself that’s caused huge fractures on the centre-right side of politics for almost two decades.”
