NSW Premier opens Homebush mass vaccine hub
Premier Gladys Berejiklian has opened the mass vaccine hub in Homebush saying the increased capacity it provides will accelerate the vaccine rollout in NSW.
Almost 300 registered nurses will work at the Sydney Olympic park centre which is anticipated to double the state's inoculation capacity by administering up to 30,000 jabs each week.
The premier noted “NSW already has five mass vaccination hubs in our hospitals as well as 100 sites across NSW but there’s no doubt that this Homebush facility gives us that extra capacity”.
Ms Berejiklian said people over 50 years of age can register for a vaccination on May 12 and receive a vaccine from May 24 and urged people between the age of 40 0and 49 to register for a Pfizer vaccine.
