One man dead, two injured after Qld mine collapse
One man has died and two others have been injured after an underground coal mine collapsed in Central Queensland. Paramedics and a helicopter were called to an area near Emerald around midnight after a section of the wall and the ceiling caved in. A 60 year old was pronounced dead at the scene while a second man, believed to be in his 20s, was airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital with serious pelvis and leg injuries. A third person suffered a medical episode and was taken to Emerald hospital in stable condition.
