Racism allegations levelled at TV Drama ‘Neighbour’s by indigenous actors

Two aboriginal actors claim they experienced racism working on the set of popular Australian television drama series ‘Neighbours’. Meyne Wyatt and Shareena Clanton detailed their experiences in separate posts on social media. Ms Clanton said it has been “lonely, triggering and traumatising to work in such a culturally unsafe place”. Mr Wyatt who was a member of the cast between 2014 and 2016 also alleged rampant homophobia on the show. A spokesperson for production company Freemantle Media released a statement saying, “Neighbours strives to be a platform for diversity and inclusion on-screen and off-screen”.
