The Queensland Opposition have come down hard on Deputy Premier Steven Miles’ war of words with the federal government with the Shadow Health Minister labelling him a “national embarrassment”. Mr Miles has claimed on multiple occasions the federal government are using debate around the vaccine as a political distraction from issues relating to women in the workplace. In Queensland vaccine hubs are not open on Sunday and only the Royal Brisbane is open on Saturday triggering condemnation the setup could lead to rollout delays. Speaking about Mr Miles Opposition Leader David Crisafulli said he “went too far” and is trying to “morph into this role of being the attack dog”. “It doesn’t work for you mate because you don’t have the strength or the intellectual capacity to do it,” he said. Queensland Shadow Health Minister Ros Bates went on to deliver an emphatic rejection of Mr Miles' behaviour declaring he was “not just a Queensland embarrassment, he’s a national embarrassment”. “It was completely unbecoming and childish of a deputy premier of this state to get into a war of words. “Steven Miles is a fraud, a phony and a failure and if Annastacia Palaszczuk wasn’t the weakest premier she should have sacked him when he was the health minister."
