‘Still concerns in regional rural NSW’ amid lockdown extension
NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro says the decision to extend regional NSW’s lockdown to August 28 was based on the escalating case numbers within the areas.
Western New South Wales recorded 25 new cases overnight with one in Bathurst, two in Brewarrina, 20 in Dubbo, and two in Mudgee.
Mr Barilaro said this takes the total active cases in the area to 167.
He also said there have been cases recorded in Gosford, Newcastle, Goulburn, and South Kempsey.
“Therefore, it’s starting to show clearly, there are still concerns in regional rural New South Wales.”
