Tourism Industry Aotearoa CEO Chris Roberts says the “key driver” for Australians returning to New Zealand through the trans-Tasman travel bubble will be people visiting family and friends they haven’t seen in a year or more. “We know all the stories of the grandparents who haven’t seen the new grandkids, even husbands and wives who’ve been separated this whole time,” he said.
