‘Window of opportunity’ for evacuations ‘is not going to be open for much longer’

Independent Senator Jacqui Lambie says the “window of opportunity” to evacuate people from Afghanistan will not stay open for much longer. “I mean, those people that worked alongside our troops, whether they were contactors, whether they were inside on our bases over there should have been brought back in the last five years,” she told Sky News Australia. “I mean you go and send a Hercules over there and bring back 26 people, what the hell’s going on? “I just think that window of opportunity is not going to be open for much longer and I don’t think we’re going to get many more out. “And I think they need to come out and be honest about it.”
